July 14, 2010 - Power Mixer 3.6 Beta is released.
What's new
- Added - Peak meter control for real time audio monitoring
- Updated - Help file
- Fixed - Few bugs
Power Mixer support two types of peak meters: VU Meter and PPM Meter. VU Meter is the signal strength after the volume control has been applied, work like standard meter in Vista/7 (green line). PPM Meter is the pre-volume control peak meter value.
Peak meter is available for the following controls:
- Playback endpoints
- Recording controls
- Controls which have hardware peak meter
If the adapter device that streams audio data to or from the endpoint device implements a hardware peak meter, the Power Mixer uses that meter to monitor the peak levels in the audio stream. If the audio device lacks a hardware peak meter, the audio engine automatically implements the peak meter in software.
